Combat LinkedIn Writer’s Block with These Tips
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 16th edition of Short & Sweet, a weekly newsletter where I provide brief tips for attorneys to build their brand and book of business, on and off of LinkedIn. Read until the end to see my LinkedIn tip of the week.
In order to systematically build an audience on LinkedIn and take advantage of the algorithm to be seen in the feed, it’s important to be consistently active. Putting in the work allows you to take time off and return to the platform without seeing much of an impact on your views and engagement.
After spending a lot of time on LinkedIn over the past couple months, I’ve been taking a bit of a break this week. Being consistently active on LinkedIn does become a grind. The trick is finding a rhythm that works for your schedule and doesn’t burn you out. And, the key to doing that is to hone in on the topics that you’re passionate about.
The magic is when those topics align with the topics your target audience is interested in. You can drill down on these by creating lists of the topics that light you up, the topics that your clients and referral partners want to hear about, the pain points that they are experiencing related to your practice area, the things that distinguish you from your competitors, and the particular service(s) you want to focus on offering.
Being able to come home to these lists allows you to always have a topic at the ready and to feel inspired to share consistently. Setting up Google alerts for keywords so you are updated on current events, and reading practice specific newsletters helps keep a posting routine going as well.
I work with my 1:1 attorney coaching clients to create the lists they need to find consistent footing on LinkedIn, and to make sure their other business development activities are efficient and aligned with their goals. When these come together, more clients come in the door. Schedule an appointment with me here to learn more:
